I used the mcveigh argument on my "ho-lee jesus" thread. as well as the "without guns he would have just bombed the scool instead" argument
lets add that you can still buy plane tickets and how many people died sept 11th? enough to dwarf the 168 mcveigh killed, and costing less dollars than a ryder truck full of ANFO cost mcveigh.
the shooter was 20 years old, and would have easily been able to buy a plane ticket on his own, whether or not he could have bought guns, he used guns that were never sold to him anyway. so these proposed restrictions wouldn't have prevented it
none of these proposed restrictions would have saved any lives in this situation. his mom (who legally bought, and owned them) would have needed to have secured her firearms better in her home (which no law would be able to change that situation)
the real issue here is mental illness.
