I think @glockman rides a lot faster than I do. I was able to keep up pretty well.. but it took 100% for 100% of the time. I was sore yesterday, and I don't want to move today.

Yeah that’s the kind of crap I hate trying to work around. Call me high maintenance I guess
I can do you one better. I tried to order an FMF Turbine core silencer yesterday. Well apparently FMF has a deal with KTM so it comes up as a KTM only part. Since I have a dealer account at RMATV I can't order KTM OEM parts from them. So I can't order an FMF silencer lol. It's madness. Oh well, my son ordered one and got free shipping

@glockman is no joke dude! You’ve gotten pretty damn fast over the last year too. Now imagine 4 days of that insanity, that’s the annual January ride. You better come next year

It doesn't help when I have new bike courage AND my biggest USRA rival shows up to ride with us so I have to turn it up a notch.
You have gotten WAY faster Brian. cough....Sandbagger....cough...cough.

Seriously? Because you have a dealer account they simply won’t sell you OEM parts?
It's a KTM/ Husqvarna agreement. You can only buy OEM parts at cost if you are a KTM/ Husqvarna dealer.

Separately.
The FMF agreement says only dealers can sell FMF parts the first year model year of the bike. (IE I can only buy FMF products at retail price for my 2019 during 2019, after 2019 I can buy at wholesale and resale for that machine).

Dumb yes, but it supposedly protects the dealers from internet wholesalers.
They still should sell to us dealers... But at retail prices. (I'm forced to buy on my retail account).

I am getting ready to put an order in to FMF on our sponsorship. Message me if you want anything.

Decided to look at my starter today.

It’s been turning the engine over but rarely fast enough to start the bike. I figured the starter was just tired.

When I pulled the starter there was a weird groove in the teeth. Almost looked factory. Almost. I figured something else must be wrong

I started by disassembling the starter. I can’t believe it still turned. One of the brushes had broken off and the wires were rubbing the armature. Junk

Next I pulled off the ignition cover. Everything looked normal. Dirty of course but normal. I watched a couple YouTube vids about the assembly and I could tell my bushings were worn. The first 3 not to bad. Then I looked at the one in the ignition cover. Yup. Bushing was gone. The bendix has done enough damage to the cover that it’s junk now too.

I tried putting a bushing in but the hole is probably 1/8” too big.

So parts list is
Starter
Bendix
Bushing kit
Ignition cover
Idler gear.

Really the idler gear and bendix do not look bad at all. But since I’m in there I guess

Cheston, give DB Electrical a call at 800.753.2242. They have an awesome selection of starters for really good prices. They have a Web site, just google it. I bought a new Denso starter for about $80 versus about $180 for a rebuilt starter from NAPA.
