I need to get my bike tuned and loaded with fresh oil, battery is dead too :(

Any recommendations for a solid shop? I could track down the parts and tools but my time is better spent working on a Land Cruiser :D

Unless you all tell me it's cake to do. I know the battery is cake but don't I need something special for the oil?

Define "tuned", just a carb re-jet?

What's the bike? I used to be a KTM tech at the Edge before they went out of business the first time.

In either case, an untrained monkey with harbor freight tools could do that lol. So you're totally capable.

*edit, saw it was an XC-FW as the bike

I like Yamalube Synthetic but Motorex 4T 10w50 with a couple of filters. I think this bike uses like almost a liter in the gears and .7 liters in the engine or the other way around. Bring this and the Kawi up and we can knock it out fast enough.

It's due for an oil service and valve adjust. 2007 KTM 450 XCW

Luckily you don't even need shims to adjust those valves.
Many bikes need shims, thus complicating it for the at- home guy. But it's really simple on that bike.

The only "special" tool you'd need to do it all (not really that special) is the feeler gauges to adjust your valves. All that is probably an hour or so of work. However, I can understand spending your time doing something better than motorcycle maintenance :) I solved the need for maintaining a motorcycle by just not riding :(
