KYB Stuts

Does anyone have any experience with these. I currently have a set of KYB GR-2 shocks and struts on my 02 VW Beetle that I had installed awhile ago. I took them out last night to put on some lowering springs and after hours of struggle I can't get the bolt that holds the spring down off. The shaft of the strut just spins with it. There is no hex key at the tip to hold on to just a little 8mm wrench head. Anyone have any tips? I tried vise grips on the tip and on the shaft way high up so that I didn't damage the shaft but no luck. Its super hardned metal the vise grips didn't even scar it.

I press struts 4 or 5 times a week. The key is to use an impact and just keep bumping the trigger. on, off, on, off etc in short .5 second bursts. Sustained impacting usually won't get them off. If not let me know I can probably get them off

why do you have a picture of mudflap as your profile pic? I just noticed that.

I guess it's cute. I think Kelli would be jealous though.

well, get it filled cause I'm probably going to need it for mounting beadlocks this week.

I'm running KYB's and Eibach springs on my Acura and I love the ride!!! I also installed Energy bushings all the way around at the same time. 220k miles on it and it rides like a Cadi.....
