I went to Bubba's and RAN out of there... I thought their trailers Sucked.

I went to Wasatch Trailers and bought a 16' PJ's trailer for $1600.00. It was Twice the trailer that Bubba was selling.

What didn't you like about Bubba's trailers? They are the typical design everyone uses, welds look like typical production welds, (some good some bad) he uses beter lights, bearing buddys, 8' ramps with doors, the only thing I didn't like is that he torch cut some pieces instead of saw cut under the trailer.(not a big deal- just ugly IMO) Way better prices than lone peaks big tex trailers. I could see how Bubba himself could scare you though:D my .02

Damn skinner looks killer. Ijust bought a bubbas trailer and its great very well built but like skinner said some of the production line welds are a little sloppy, and under the trailer there is some rough flame cut edges not any to effect strength, and I think most people wouldn't notice the cuts. The paint job isn't tyhe best but over all a very well built trailer 10x better then my old Metal craft trailer and in my opion 1000x better then a big tex

Nice work Skinner

I have thought about that cause I get aluminum cheap/free sometimes from work but I think it would take some serious enginerring to make the strength comparable to steel...

I dont think you could do any straight pieces besides the sides...eveything else would have to be angles and such...but aluminum is WAY easy to work with...you can cut it with just about anything...we use a miter saw with a wood blade and it works awesome...been going strong for a couple years now...with only regular blade changes:D

I like to TIG aluminum...it is like totally artistic feeling. I would love to do something with aluminum but the equipment is expensive and the materials aren't cheap either...the cost of a trailer would be probably trippled.

I have ya covered on equipment...I ahve free reign of my shop on the weekends...we have anything and everything(or just about) and we just got a new welder MM251...that thing is sweet...TIG is nice but has its time and place...

I used Teak wood;) 2x6x20 pine with thompsons water PROOFER. Seems like pretty good stuff. Time will tell I guess. Wood color looks kinda funky in those low res. pics. Tows killer, and plenty O' room:D

(Thanks to Coreshot for helping me pre-drill and run 200 screws in it yesterday:( )
