ok i am getting ready to do a solid axle swap on my 94 4runner. im just going to get rid of the coils in the rear. i have been all over the web and can not find anything on it. i just want to get some ideas on how to mount some leaf springs on the rear. i would love some picture if you guys have any of your own or whatever. thank you

Go to Trail Gear's website and look up the instructions for their rear lift kits. Should be the same process other than you'll need to add leaf spring perches to the axle housing.

I just got done building my 91 with rear leafs, its easy to do. What spring you go with will dictate where your front mount goes. I'll snap you a pic or two later today, I just made my own hangers and shackle mounts, super easy.

that is what i was planning on doing is making my own hanger. i have heard that you can use the 63in springs from a chevy but i dont know. i want whatever works best for crawlin and a everyday driver and im planning on a 5in lift

so then what can i use the get the 5in lift. and be honest is that to big of a lift for these 4runners. i have heard alot of people say 4 is enough but their are those people that say it really helps. but buy looking at your runner taco i think that will be plunty. i would love to do exactly what you have done. even the stretch would be awsome. and i may take you guys up on your offers (too far and sparticus) just give me a couple more days to figure out what i want or need to do

what are your goals for your truck? Sparticus, tacoman, I, and others all have build threads for our rigs. You can learn a lot from reading them.

i do want it to really be good on the trails. but at the same time it is my DD so it does have to be street legal so that i guess stops alot of what i could do? i have read all of your threads and sparticus didnt do leafs in the rear but alot of really good info in all of them. but ya sparticu is right

taco i have the 3.0L and it is the 5 Speed manuel. and i am wanting to buy 04nachotaco's front end, and run 4.88's with 35-36in tires

this is a idea that i have. and that last word is down.
how does this look any ideas, please be open i want to here your ideas or if this is just dumb

You will want the shackle in the rear. I would keep the coils and build longer links but there are pics of both on Pirate if you look under the Toyota section.

I'd do the tried and true toyota leaf spring setup. I'd do 3" HD springs up front, and 3" springs in the rear. I'm a fan of TG, but allpro is great too.

Finally someone else who says to keep the rear coils:o:o:o

you could lengthen or replace the links on the rear and it will be better and cheaper than going with leafs
