I think you should start one Matt. That way we just have to watch one thread and we can just keep updating it every week.
x2!I wish i would have checked this thread too. there should be a who is/ where at riding thread. FYI stansbury rocked
I actually saw you drive by as we were pulling out of the neighbor hood to get to the canyon. It was a good ride, found some new trails, and put on some decent miles.Dang, I wish I had checked this thread in the morning, I would have loved to have joined that ride. How was it? I was up by midway on Friday night with Corban. It was beautiful up there and we didn't hit any snow.
Is soldiers Pass West of Utah lake, a few miles north of Little Moab? I know the road there is called Soldiers pass- it takes you into Eagle Mountain..
Same Spot?
Next weekend, we're talking about doing Stansbury Front trail.
It run most of the length of the Stansbury Mountains range (the range west of Granstville and Tooele). Most of the trail is single track multi-use trail (hikers, bikers, horses, etc are all permitted to use it). I've never actually done it (there's always been other preferred trails open...i.e. AF Canyon ), so can't speak to the level of difficulty. The trail is an out and back, and depending on where you start, I've heard it's about 20 miles long each direction.tell me more about this place. Where is it?

The best way to ride this trail is to start from West Canyon. From Grantville, continue west on Main Street and follow the road out of town, the road will curve to the NW, take the second road on the left, it is marked with a sign "West Canyon", its asphalt/gravel for a mile, then a rough dirt road. Drive up a little way, the park and get on the motorcycle. Ride up the road for a mile to the trailhead. From West Canyon trailhead, the Stansbury trail (trail #31), is about 1/2 mile, look on south side for the sign. The trail is extremely rocky in west canyon and in other parts of the trail. There are some sharp switch backs here and there... lots of off camber traversing. The trail can be a little tricking finding when it drops into the paved campground areas, you just have to ride around and look very closely for the continuing trail head marker/signs. Total length about 25 out, then back another 25 miles (following the same trail). It's a good ride, takes about 5 hours round trip with breaks and lunch.
