I have a Miller big window elite. I like it fine but the only time it ever gets used is when I am somwhere that there is no room to flip a fixed shade helmet down. A quality fixed lens beats any auto darken hands down. I weld almost every day and the AD comes out maybe once a month.

x2. I know quite a few guys that weld all day long and have done so for years and they say that after 1/60,000 of a second arc a couple hundred times a day times a couple years starts to add up. I don't weld quite that much but I prefer a fixed lens for the same reason all 7 of my vehicles are stick......I like to be in control.:D

your post has got me thinking, let me know when you buy and I'll do it at the same time.

Maybe a RME bulk buy? Tires, trailers, welding helmets? why not?

Let me know what you think...

Add one for me;)

You know, I've always preferred to flip my hood. Even when I have an AD hood I would still go through the motion of flipping it down (even when it was already down). :p
