Rough Country and Superlift Lift Kits

So I'm researching a lift to put on my 98 Dodge ram 1/2 ton. I'll be running 33" tires, possibly going up to 35" In time. I'm trying to decide a lift to put on it that is decent in both price and craftsmanship. I've narrowed it down to a 3 inch Skyjacker, but today I read about Rough Country and Superlift. Does anyone recommend these? Has anyone had dealings in them? Should I just stick with Skyjacker?

Well, Fabtech, as nice as it is it is just a wee bit to expensive for my blood and what I use my truck for. Jackit can set me up with a pretty decent Skyjacker for a pretty decent price. I just went to Rough Country's site and their lifts are junk. They use front spring spacers instead of new springs, and blocks. It's not quite up my alley. I haven't looked at RCD. I'll have to check them out.

Rough country kits are crap! Steer clear. I wouldn't even consider them. In fact, I don't think I've ever met anyone who's actually liked them, and if there is anyone who does, they should be kicked in the nuts. You should consider Tuff country though, they're a good 3" kit, probably the most inexpensive too since you can pick one up locally at the Tuff Country warehouse in South Jordan. Superlift kits are okay, but there's no reason to pay their prices for their kits when you can get a skyjacker for the same price. I would take skyjacker over superlift. Besides, skyjacker kits are red, and red is cool.

Blue is better....or silver. Yeah......siiiiiiilver.

lemme get you a price on that lift from Skyjacker Ramme. We usually get a pretty decent price on them. Might be less than Jack It.

DO NOT BUY ROUGH COUNTRY!!!

THEY ARE CRAP!!!

I have part of a rough country lift on my jeep, and it sucks.

I had to put new springs on the rear after the old ones broke, and now I have pro comps, not the best spring but they ride WAY better than the rough country crap.

Rancho doesn't make a very good kit for this particular vehicle. They've made great kits for the IFS vehicles but they haven't quite figured out how to make control arms right.

Ok, Lifts for my 98 Dodge Ram 1/2 ton. I will be lifting it 3 inches. This time lets not decide on which by color, but what is better for ride, roughness, wheelin, etc.

Here ya go Ramme.

Here's the Tuff kit offered for 3" Dodge Rams.

and here's the pros and cons

Bad sides are you don't get coils. Only spacers. Which are alright but not great for wheeling. You still get a fairly stock ride. You get upper and lower control arms, wich is good for geometry, but not great since they're not the best. Reason being they have lame joints, thin (about 1/4") polly bushings that flex very little and transmit a lot of road vibe. You get an add-a-leaf for the rear, this is decent. And you can get some decent shocks from them. One good thing about Tuff is that they're manufactured out of South Jordan. You can pick up your kit directly and get it cheap.

Here's one, just one, of the Sky kits.

This kit is better in that it comes with leaf springs (from skyjacker, which are good springs). But, it only comes with lower control arms. However, they are much higher quality than the Tuff arms, with thicker polly bushings, and they're powdercoated. You can get a more expensive kit with upper and lower arms too. The rear end is just about the same. And they're red. :D

On top of that, both companies offer rear springs that you could opt for

I would get Skyjacker. It's better quality. You don't get upper arms but you don't really need them at 3". And it's red.

Here is my opinion!
I had the add a leaf and a spacer lift that is shown above It was great for Moab and everywere. Don't get new springs you won't be able to get the same ride and flex trust me the flex you will get out of that lift above trail master I think It is cheep so yo can save your money for the custome stuff later. but I would do custom Sh!t after the Mopar stuf breaks. It will! and it is so expensive. I wish I had mine back now that I know so many people that can do custom stuff.
