Jeep Limited Slip Diff

I've got a '99 TJ with a limited slip D-35c, I was told you can't replace the clutch pack that you have to replace entire carrier. Is this true?

Why would you? How much would you be willing to spend to replace your limited slip clutch pack?
For $256 you can do this instead:

Of course, you really should swap out that Dana 35 entirely.

Why not swap in a 44a with disc brakes and an Aussie Locker?

I am wanting to go to a 44 but right now the cash says no! Plus I still need to get back and forth to work

A worn out limited slip shouldn't prevent you from commuting...

You could find a 2wd toyota axle to swap in for next to nothing and just a little work. They're alot stronger than a D35 and will still have the same bolt pattern. I'm not sure about the axle gearing but with a little research it might be a good swap to do

I can get you a 44a with disc brakes for $250, bolts right in if you have adjustable arms with jointed ends.

a worn out limited slip will not prevent you from driving to work, and a brand new limited slip will not get you further down the trail.
