Went out to do some testing on the toyota today. Wanted to find out if it really was ready for moab in 2 weeks.

Carnage: Front u-joint, broken center pin, broken t-case.

The broken center pin allowed the axle to slide back forcing the driveshaft into the t-case, which split the case wide open. The U-joint was a simple fix and about 30 mins later, my day was done with the t-case issue.

Here are some pics.

I guess I should add what the day started like.

We worked a 10 hour shift, drove SLC to Price and back to get the pickup. Then drove out to little moab arriving in early afternoon.

Ill post pics of the t-case once I get it out.

I know it sucks... But it was my fault, I was using degree shims, one kicked out and allowed this to happen. The perches will be cut and rolled along with the other repairs.

Here is the end result of the t-case.

The front half is completely broken in half, and the rear has a good crack, along with broken tabs.

Ok here is what is confusing me. Driver side shim was kicked out, but axle didnt slide back, center pin is not broke.

The plug is still in the end of my slip yoke on the driveline, indicating it never bottomed out.

I dont know what broke the t-case.

Hey man, I like your runner. I saw you on your way out there or on the way back. I was in an orange/black 85 runner and you passed me on the freeway headed north in Lehi.
How do you like the full width axles? When I deem my runner no longer road worthy, I'll think I'll swap some full width axles under it as well.

I like your runner too, my wife commented on liking the color.

I love the fullwidth, its really stable. I dont think I could have taken the lines I did out there if it was narrow.
