“To me, photography is an art of observation. It's about finding something interesting in an ordinary place... I've found it has little to do with the things you see and everything to do with the way you see them.”

Several more images down the page.
I have not been back here for a bit, sold my Zuki, and havent had the money to spend on building my Jeep.. Instead I bought a camera for school. I just completed my first year at Weber State, Bachelor of Fine Arts, Photography.

I haven't began my first classes for photography, but I decided to get snapping... (LOL) I spent the last month, August like a madman!

Let me know what you think, also some may be over processed, but I tried not to!

Let me know if you like! I uploaded some here, but I have a fan site on Facebook with lots more. http://www.facebook.com/marcedwardsphoto

I think you're right about the overprocessing, the blue in particular is pushed a bit too far.

Other than that, I like them. :D Third pic is a shiny rail.

I couldn't figure out what the blue part was either.. Figured it was a river with funky blue coloring from a program.

That's what I couldn't figure out, the other rail is too close to it for it to be a rail. Must be an optical illusion.

It's not an illusion, those are inner guardrails that help protect the structure (the bridge, in this case) in the event that a train is dragging a car that has derailed. The guardrail will pull a derailed car in towards the track, so the derailed car doesn't take out the bridge and cause a much larger derailment and destroy the bridge in the process.

Little railroad track knowledge for the day... :greg:

Campfire one rocks. In the third pic on the top row, what are we looking at? The blue thing?

That rail picture.. was so astounding when I got home and looked at it.. I had not processed the 3 images, and when I saw the sky in it I was astounded.. one of my favorite shots.

I sent 12 in for printing on some Metallic, and Matte, Ill let you know how they turned out!

Daaaamnnn Good eye! I think your right, I was trying to figure out how the canal was so small :D :brett:

When I looked at the image on the way home, on the LCD ( edit for caleb: 3 seprate images)... I don't remember ever being in the middle of the tracks shooting down. How did I get a river.. and I had to look at it a few times at home post process.. then I saw the reflection of the towers, and the blue sky.. I was like holy S***. Thats HDR for ya....

The picture that you took, with the camera sitting on top of the rail, is the running rail. The inner rails are the guardrails, they shouldn't be too shiny... may be a little, because they're used rail, but your photo was taken directly above the running rail. Hope that makes sense.
