Can somebody knowledgeable tell me the average life expectancy of a TH700?

Totally depends on the year/usage. General rule of thumb, introductory to about '86-87 are piles of junk until rebuilt/upgraded with later parts. '88 and newer are decent trannies (think T350 applications) and can be built pretty decent and somewhat economically.

Dave Pellingro builds out of his house (West Jordan) and could help you out. (801) 569-1856 I've known about 3 people had things built from him (including myself) and all were very satisfied. EZ Rhino was my original referer

Life expectancy is pretty good if you can keep the fluid temps down with a good cooler and a gauge so you know what you're doing to the tranny......

It's a '91 with unknown miles but I estimate it's about 150K.

Thanks for the referal. Has he done an AT for you before?

Yep, and he'll be doing my next one. Very satisfied with the price/service and performance.

Definately. Dave was my neighbor before I moved, did my trans, my father in laws, Marcs, Barts, plus a few more. I need a couple more on my ten punch card and I get a free trans rebuild, so go see him! He is a trans rebuilder (bench man) by trade, so he definately knows his crap.

EZ

Thanks for the info. I'll give him a call.

Anybody know the life expectancy of a late TH700 with light-to medium use? Just trying to get a rough idea -- I'm not very familiar with automatic trannies. thanks

I put a 155k on a stock one in an '89 Camaro. (not a lot of rough towing or anything there) With proper service, I'm thinking you could get that out of a truck if built well.
