Yep, that's right, Desert Mountain claims a second wound on this victim. Somewhere along the way, I broke my lower front p-side control arm mount. What a Bi#ch!!

Looking for suggestions on how to most effectively repair.

should I cut both front lowers off and have new mounts welded on?

or, should I simply bang the broken one back into place, weld and reinforce it?

Keep in mind that this axle will be replaced with either a D44 or a ford high pinion 9". I already have the D44 but it will take me the better part of a year to build it and get it installed. I have to build both axles (front and rear) together cause I'm changing my gear ratio.

Bang it back up, put the floor jack under it and jack it back into position. Tack it GOOD, pull the arm out (no melty bushing), weld it up inside and out, then fab a plate that welds on as a skidplate for the bracket, but extend it up/wrap around the tube an inch or so past the bracket. Then do the same to the other 3.

1/4 said he can do it, if not B or I can.

thanks, but fabbing something up is gonna cost me a lot less than what I would spend buying something from rockkrawler.

Especially since this axle's life is limited only by my ability to get the 44s built up (and those are limited by my $$)

Yep, bang it back, weld it up, and add a flat piece of stock onto the front of it for a skid and reinforcement. Easy, quick and cheap.

It seems to me that those things bend ALL the time. A buddy of mine bent his on Golden Spike and didn't know about it until the drive home, going around a turn the thing broke off and can you say DEATH WOBBLE, holy crap! So instead of fixing it, he upgraded to Tera 60's and 38's!! :D :D

Moabrat has also broken one off of his jeep, and he just had it welded back in place with a little reinforcment added, it works fine now.
