ok, now to show my age....The Bay was originally in SurgarHouse (old Kieth O'Brians Building Now Barnes and Noble) It was 16 and over.
It moved to the building on the SW corner of 4th and West Temple and went from all ages to 21+ to a mix and back and forth....
Vortex started at the location behind Cabana (little court off of 4th S and between State and main. It closed and re-opened a few times....sometimes being split floors and ages....then moved to the building on the SW corner of 4th and WT after not existing for several years. Now I believe that building is Club Bliss....
DV8 has been DV8 on and of for many years....IIRC it was open under another name for a short time.....
MANY GOOD shows there, Many thanks to Kincade.....
Way back I say NIN, and may others through the years: Ocean Blue, They Might Be Giant, Bare Naked Ladies, Short Bus/Long Beach Dub Allstars, are the first that pop to mind, but I would guess at least 20-30 shows over the years....
Now a test to see how old you are....Remember the Palladium? Do you know where it was? And the Club to end all Clubs, the Speedway!! Remember that....I Know Kurt has heard stories about it

Yup, wish I could have seen it in its hey-day. I had a chance to go to a couple of killer shows at DV8, though I think the place has been out of business for at least a couple of years? All the shows I have been to as of recent have been at Kilby
I went to a handful of shows at DV8...Homegrown, pennywise, the atari's...and some others I can't remember.
I did go to the vortex when it was gehind the Cabana club. I used to hang out at the Lazy Moon right there too.
I remember when I was younger (probably 14? so it would have been early 90's) going to a punk show underground in some pink-ish colored room on the corner of highland and 2100 south (SE corner where Barnes and Noble is now). It's a pretty dim memory for some reason (many years of beer drinking must have gotten to it) but I just remember the room being pinkish, cement, and some guy had film cylinders stuck through his ears and I thought that was crazy.

Yup, wish I could have seen it in its hey-day. I had a chance to go to a couple of killer shows at DV8, though I think the place has been out of business for at least a couple of years? All the shows I have been to as of recent have been at Kilby
Man I haven't been to Kilby in ages. Thats where I first saw Nimh and also the last place I ever saw them play. *sigh*
I saw Blink play in some POS bar in Lehi years ago too. Some of my friends went skating with them afterwards.
I remember a couple years later they were at warp tour and weren't even on a main stage. We went to watch them and I they kind of annoyed me at the time (I was way into classic rock in my youth). A few months later they hit MTV and kaboom...

Yup, I've seen alot of great shows at Kilby... RX Bandits, Saves the Day, No Motiv, Marietta, Brobecks, Alkaline Trio, Rise Against, Even vs. Seven?, Limbeck and others I've forgotton. Great music at that place.
Cody, I think we've discussed this before... but I'm pretty sure we were at the same Homegrown show @ DV8? I was there with Ramirez and others? I can't remember who they played with, but it was a good show.
I too saw Blink years ago at a skating rink, I want to say it was Classic Skating in Orem though? I would have been 14 at the time so 93/94? It was before they had Travis and their old drummer Scott Rayner. They didn't add aquabats Travis until ~98'?

Been to Kilby a lot too. Rogue Wave has to be my fav from there!! They did a full set inside, then went out around the fire and did an acoustic set! Saw Augustana there too!
Already bought earplugs for Keeley! Have a feeling all ages shows will be the norm for us in the future. She probably went to 15+ shows while she was in the oven.
