Looking for some decent gauges, look here...

I just looked over just about every thing out there and I finally decided on some gauges made by Autometer. Most sets by Autometer would run around $250 (for Volt, Water, Oil PSI, Fuel, and Tach)...I found a set that are called Autogage, which are basically a economical set of gauges. For the Volt, Water, and Oil PSI it was $67 the Tach was $62 and foir the fuel I had to go with another line (Phantom, so they would match) but it was $35...you can get the Autogage gauges in black face or white face. Just thought I would pass on the info I found while researching:D

VDO were almost as cheap BUT they didn't have the correct stuff that I wanted/needed (Fuel was the biggest problem they didn't have a 0-90 standard GM one :-\ )

I'm sure you might have looked on Ebay, but Iwas bale to get all of minefor less than $200 including shipping. They are all the ultra lite series, and I have 5 of them, and 1 is a oil filled one. They were all new in the box. So if you can wait for the good auctions they have great prices too!!

Caleb,

Mine are VDO, and the fuel gauge came with its own sender so it is irrelevant whether or not ou have a GM system, etc. It was pretty slick too....it was adjustable to any size tank so your gauge will always read accurately. I really like the programmable speedo too, I set it with my GPS for tire size, really easy to recalibrate if I go to a different size. Whitefaces, too.

I know it came with a sender but I just wasn't sure if it would fit my cell I just bought and I didn't want to have to modify my new cell to make it fit. VDOs are a good choice though, as I have never heard anything bad about them...I dont have a speedo (figure its not that important with a buggy, I'll have a GPS if I REALLY need to know how fast I am going:D )...I found Tachs are quite pricey:eek:

I hear you on the tachs.

The "sender" unit was acutally just that...the fuel level sender only. It didn't have the brass tube going through it for the fuel pickup, etc. Wierd. So I combined the two (my old one and the new one) and it worked out perfectly. I was pretty happy to have a fuel sender that was accurate and won't break every other month. I had dropped my gas tank on about 6 occasions....the float would fill up with gas and sink, or would come off the arm, or the arm would break....it was a joke.

check with Napa (dont know what their prices are like but I know they carry them all) but the cheapest is usually SummitRacing.com they are usually a few center or more cheaper than Jegs...and they ship damn fast, I ordered another Master cylinder and a brake pedal yesterday afternoon and it showed up today:D

Got mine from Summitt......they had a VDO package deal where you got the speedo plus four basic gauges for some odd amount, and it included all the senders, etc. Pretty slick.
