All;

This is a little off topic, but if any of you know someone down by Monticello, it would be greatly appreciated if you could forward this on! Some friends of ours lost their Whippet in San Juan county….

Holly has been lost. We were traveling to Santa Fe, NM and stopped at
about 1:30 in the afternoon at a place I have stopped many times to let
Holly go potty. She jumped out of the car and took off after a rabbit. She
took a few leaps into the sagebrush and literally disappeared. We never
saw or heard her after that. We couldn't find her after nine hours of
searching well past dark. We left her bed, food and water, with a note on
the crate. She did have her collar on with name/phone and rabies tag. Her
AVID microchip number is 058799534.

Could you please get the news out to anyone you think might spot her? The
area is desolate, no homes for many miles. The closest town is Monticello,
about 14 miles away through rugged country. Holly is used to being in that
kind of country, but of course it is unfamiliar terrain.

I'm going to contact any animal shelters and vets that I can find and put
up flyers in both towns. We plan to return there tomorrow, since it would
be almost dark again and the rattlesnakes would be active before we could
get back there today.

I forgot to give you the details of where Holly was lost.

In San Juan County Utah, off Highway 191 near the turn off to Newspaper
Rock on San Juan County road 140 and 141.

Please get the word out to anyone in Utah. Lost red and white female, last
seen on Sunday,
July 16, 2006 on San Juan County roads 140 and 141 near the turn off to
Newspaper Rock on
Highway 191. Her name is Holly (Ch Elidas Breakfast at Tiffany's). If you
find her please call
801-372-8000. $200 reward for return.

Unfortunately, no vets in Monticello. Closest vets likely to be able to help are in Cortez and a couple in Moab. I will foward the info to one of the clinics in Moab that I know well. Good luck.
