maintanence required light

I have a 91 xj and that damn maintanence required light came on and now it has really hard starts, i was wondering if anyone has had this problem and what it took to fix it or if i had to start at the bottom and work my way up replacing everything that turns that thing on.

oh it will be fun :-\
That light is only a timer it will go off when you hit some where between 60 and 80 thousand miles and it is just telling you to replace your o2 sensor. If you do replace your o2 sensor it will not go off you either have to find the timer under the dash or go to the stealership and have it reset.

If you search there is a topic on this. :)

im trying to find some documetation in this i will post when i find it.

when you hook up a lap top to find this function, it isnt going to find anything because this is on its own circut, an it dosnt go through the engines computer. it should just a lil timer that you can unplugg and the light will go off.

well if you could find something on it that would be great and that sucks that it differs from the main computer.
I can’t find an old article that I was hopping to find, but I searched on ju and around the web and it looks like you have to have the dealership reset the light. Or you can just pull the bulb. Like I said before it is only a timer light that is telling you to replace you o2 sensor so I wouldn’t worry about it to much.
