Marc Bryson lazy "build" -JT Gladiator Rubicon

I did tighten the sway bar link. The noise is still there and so it's likely not the sway bar links as I hoped. It's time to get serious about the steering, at least the tie rod ends.

Yikes: OEM type stuff from NAPA is $300-$400. That makes some of the aftermarket stuff seem pretty palatable. I'll have to give our friends at @Agility Customs a call when they're open.

We installed a Steersmarts linkage on Mason's XJ (JK axles, Rancho HiSteer knuckles) and their components are beef.

Looks like I have a track bar issue. The first Skyjacker component to fail/wear (possibly of many?). I removed the frame side of the track bar and steer back and forth with no funny sounds. Had funny "click" sounds when connected.17366218739107206069396760219855.jpg

Factory bracket looks fine. Bushing does look replaceable. FakeBook Marketplace has a dude in Draper that has a trackbar for sale in new condition... we'll see how this develops.

One thing to also think about. Removing the track bar on one end and steering back and forth takes all the load off the rest of the steering. The body and frame will move opposite and steering load is almost nothing at that point.

My Teraflex track bar is fine, but the frame side hole is wallowing out and creating a 'clunk' so I'm addressing that today as well.

I'm pulling out the big guns.... I figure with 39's and frequent wheelin, I'd better do it right and make it beefy.

That should probably be in my future even thought I'm just running 38" Nitto. I want to focus on $ on the "Trail Jeep". Trackbar bushing seems to be my clunk. I can now hit Winter 4x4 Jamboree on Friday next week without towing it down there :D

What's that bracket @Greg ? Looks beefy

I wondered how the Nitto 38" compared to the 39" KM3. I'd call that 36 3/8"

I'd call the KM3 on my trail Jeep 36 5/8" ? 20250111_150154.jpg
