We made the base, the lego bricks, the delrin pads, and the oval in the middle that has the decal of the lego dude. At first it was supposed to be a 3D figure but someone thought it might be offensive to any non-humanoid alien, yeah I am serious.

There are actually parts we made in our shop on that lander on Mars. It was a cool project.

Yeah, quite a few years ago.....figured I'd reread them. Also just read "Moving Mars" by Greg Bear.....that one isn't too bad either.
