Anyone ran the trepador radials on the street? I am wondering how they do on the road. I am sure they are awesome off road.

Bart had them on his DD, and he loved them on the road. He said they were his favorite non-sticky tire, both on road and off road. I bought Bart's old set from him, then sold 'em to TRD270 before I could drive with them.

I had them on my 4runner, they were WORLDS better than the Xterrains they replaced. I sold them to TRD270 along with the rig. :p

One thing I will, say: they are HEAVY. A single 35x12.50x17 trep weighed more than my 35x12.50x17 Km2 + wheel. They're beefy and burly, but if you only have 4 squirrels under the hood like I do, the weight would definitely be noticeable. But what a great tire.

The radials were? I didn't notice them weighing much, if any, more than any other similar tire.

The bias tires are stupid heavy though.

yeah, the radials were tons heavier than my KM2s. KM2s are one of the lightest tires out there, so it's not really a fair comparison, but I remember Tyler and I loading the Maxxis tires and my mounted KM2s at the same time, and the mounted KM2s were noticeably lighter.

They mention the weight in this article:

120 lbs for a 35" wheel and tire, that's insane!

40 lb wheel, 80 lb 35" tire.

I have no complaints with them on the road, I haven't driven daily on them but the 900 mile trek on them I had no complaints. Even siped and grooved I can't really complain of the noise level. I just put a set on my ladies rig and same thing, they actually even balanced out really nicely.

I love the traction they have off road

I loved them on the road. One of the quietest tires I've ever run. Not sure of their longevity, but for dual performance I don't think you could beat them.

I just ordered a set of the 37-12.50-17 maxxis trep radials. They rolled in today I should get around to doing the lift, gears, zip lockers and tires within a couple weeks I will update the thread when I finally run them.

They are definately not as beefy as the Bias sticky version.

Those look pretty cool. I guess we will have to go wheeling to compare them to my km2s

my co worker has them on his taco with the 2.7l and he loves them, he says they are the best tire he has ever ran. and he has ran way to many tires. his are 37x12.5x17. my next tire for sure.

There will never be a good reason for that now Haha.

Except the cool kids are doing it!

Im interested to see how these work out I think in a 40 inch flavor theyd make a great ultra4 tire.. But idk if the sidewalls are up for that.

How many ply sidewall skippy? And how much does 1 weigh ?

I am not worried about it at all. They are pretty awesome tires I cant wait til I can find the time to work on the JK

Well it has been a few months and I finally got the JK down to moab this last weekend and its time for some feedback on these tires. These tires make zero noise on the highway, they also seem to be wearing very very good they seem like they will last quite a while and since this is my wifes daily driver that is very important. Now for the feedback everybody cares about. These Tires are one of the best streetable tires I have ever run the traction was amazing and they never missed a beat, we ran metal masher, hells revenge, cliffhanger and moab rim and they seemed great on everything from the slick rock to the sand covered rocks and dirt on cliffhanger. I will definately be buying another set of these when these wear out. The sidewalls seem to be pure beefy as well and since I opt to not carry a spare that is a pretty important factor to me as well
