Colorado May RME Monthly Trip; 21 Road and Billings Canyon

We are three days away! I am really looking forward to this trip.

If everything finishes up in decent shape with tonight’s wrenching, my family will be there two rigs. Orange CJ7 Yellow CJ8. Bunch of munchkins...

Who else? I heard the MFFW guys might becoming.

We are back together and planning on rolling out from Salt Lake tomorrow afternoon.

I think we have @pkrfctr and @DToy joining us as well...

So after all my wrenching to get ready, I'm going to be a last minute scratch. The wife came down with the crud, so I'll be working around the house. Is anyone able to pick up Greg's parts for him? They will be in SLC. Sorry for the late notice

So nothing terrible for me this trip. I broke driver side u joint caps. Pass side hub. Bent tie rod... more.And ripped 3 different tires off the bead. My pass front came off twice. And finally wouldn't seal. So I drove all the way to the parking lot from the billings entrance with a flat pass front tire. Was a fun day. Turns out I made it all the way to table rock in 2wd.

Wow, I didn't realize it was that bad for you! The back-end of the group got a delayed start after the parking fiasco, took more time to get everyone situated where we could actually unload. I've never seen so many people in the Bangs Canyon area! We made it about 1/3 of the way in, when a alternator died on one of the rigs and it wouldn't run without getting the battery charged up. We decided to bail back out the bottom and help get the disabled back to the trailers.

It was nice to finally meet you, hope to see you again on the trail!

Billings apparently has gotten alot rougher since I was last there in 2012. Nice to finally meet you as well sir.

Great weekend! Huge thanks out to Greg for setting it up and trail leading. 21 road was awesome and I'll have to get back out to finish Billings after turning around to help get a dead rig out. Pics to come later.
