I saw this painting, March of Time by Henry Sandham, at the National Portrait Gallery in DC almost 20 years ago to the day. It's always stuck with me as a very poignant reminder of the sacrifice that veterans have made for our country. These Union veterans marching 30 years after the end of the Civil War, and you can see in their faces the memories of all that they endured to keep America united and free.
