blackdog is 100% correct on this being the absoute best way to polish wheels.
That said, I have a ghetto way that requires more elbow grease, and will save you a trip to the truckstop (in case you are afraid of truckers).
I did this before teh autorama, and several final and touchup polishes, they looked great. Its so cool how well aluminum cleans up when you put some effort to it.
I take .00 steel woool (don't even try this with anything corser) and spray some muratic acid in the wheel when washing (only needed if you have LOTS of brake corrosion). When the acid flashed yellow on the wheel, run the steel woll lightly around, and get all the crap off. Hold your breath. Try to rinse, and hit the wheel with a soapy was mit ASAP so the acid dosn't eat your wheels.
After your done washing, dry the wheel, and get a fresh wad of 00 wool.
Saturate the wad of woll with aluminum polish, and start rubbing. You will actually get a pretty good finish out of this.
Hand polish after you get a good base finish.
Final polish with Neverdul. (looks really good for a final polish).
Like I said, do it Blackdog's way if you can, but if not, this works... just be very very very very very very very very careful with acid on your wheels.
