Pics Tell all I have to say...

Basically got to the top of the wall, started to wheel stand, The driver said he tried to get the auto trans into Reverse but couldnt, basically 20 feet to solid hit, Passenger was air lifted for a decent gash in his head, driver busted nose on the steering wheel, actually bent the wheel.

Oh man... It sucks when people get hurt and rigs get trashed. I don't recognize the rig, is it someone from here?

The plates were Montana but I heard someone sayin they were from logan... dont know about rme though...

What I was very glad to see, the cage was intact and looks to be very close to square still. Worst of the damage was the nose.

Glad to hear the folks were OK for the MOST part. Lap belts only, no 5 point harness. Shoot, not even OEM shoulder belts.

I took a good hard look at that cage, and I don't think it took much of the impact... driver's rear C pillar took a good shot I think, as the tub is tweaked and the side panels torn there. I think the front (and the passengers!! oof!!) took most of the impact.

If nothing else this illustrated several major points. First, accidents can happen anywhere & anytime. Second, the response of the MMP staff was excellent IMO. They had a medic on scene within 2-3 minutes and they had an ambulance on scene shortly thereafter. Security handled the crowd and as soon as the scene was clear the rolled rig was righted and the spilled fluids handled. They deserve a kudos for their quick response. While it it put a sad mark on the day it was still a great day to be out on the course. It was a good foot on the ground for a 2010 event and I think with this one under their belt they can plan bigger and better for next year.

My neighbor here in Logan has a jeep that looks a lot like that with Montana plates. Do you have a picture of the whole thing? When did this happen? I heard it moving around like they were loading it on a trailer yesterday evening.

hehe. I just spent 3 months slinging steel w/a loader the same way. Surprised they didn't wrap the forks and take some of the slack out. *shrug

Yes

If you look at how the rig was sitting after the back flip, you'll notice that the winch is sitting at about the lowest point. The blood from the passenger's head wound flowed down to the bottom of the hole in front of the steep obstacle.

Edit - I may have spoken to soon. I wasn't close enough to the action, only heard it second hand. Big Sarge did though.

That, is exactly why the photo IMO speaks volumes of how harsh a roll it was. basically a 180* backwards straight into the ground with speed behind it.. Occupants only wearing lap belts. Violent to say the least.

I'm glad to hear that they are recovering.
