Mineral Basin Open Yet???

Is American Fork Canyon Mineral Basin area open yet?

I went up there Wednesday and the Cat driver that was Grading the road... said they were going to try and get it open for the weekend...

It should be opened this weekend, but I haven't checked.

I heard about that, too. But they are working on the road and getting it ready. Perhaps the Canyon will be closed above a certian point?? Or just specific areas?

I went up to the pay station above sundance and talked to the ranger. The canyon is open. they are doing mine cleanup/road construction. There are no new closures for this year.

hey ChadBukner and I went up to mineral basin today (5/27). You can go alll the way to the basin before the snow gets to deep and stops most people. Very little traffic, I think I only saw 2 people of 4-wheelers and thats it. Very fun trail this year.

I went up Mary Ellen Gulch. Here are the pics

After crossing a deep ditch I lost focus for a second and we ended up in the deep portion of it. After 4 hours a friend of mine pulled us out.
