Mineral Basin Overnight run, Off Road Trailer Testing

Totally Awesome
I figured it was time for a shake down run to see how the old Disco would perform towing my M101 off-road trailer up a challenging trail. Everything worked pretty good.

Just a couple of pictures. It got down to 30 degrees or so at night. But we stayed nice and warm in the Roof Top Tent attached to the trailer.

And a quick Video. I'm still trying to get the hang of using an Action Camera and edit on a Mac. So its not the most awesome video.

It was a good quick trip. It was our first time down there. I've been living here for over a year and a half and can't believe I have not been down there before. I'll have to go down again sometime and try out Forest lake and Mary Ellen Gulch.

I haven't been up AFC for about 30 years now. Used to go up there quite a bit, but it started getting too crowded back in the 80's.

But every summer for the past 10 years or so, I keep saying I'm going to head down there and spend a day, see how much it has changed (a LOT!!! from what I hear...). Every summer, same thing, say I'm gonna for sure, but, still haven't. Maybe this will be the summer...

you know, it wasn't bad going down around 3.00 pm on a Friday. There weren't too many people up there. I think I may go down again on a Friday later this month. I'd like to run those other trails, just to say I have done it. Before they put the gondola's in and all the new condo's. I'm sure it'll become pretty gay after that.

Looks like a nice little outing! I wanted to get out this past weekend, but it didn't happen. I managed to go on a rod trip Saturday around Bear Lake area, but your over-nighter looks like a LOT more fun!

Oh...and I've been in Utah since 1990, and I STILL haven't been to Mineral basin...or Forest Lake...or Mary Ellen Gulch... Man, I need to get out more!

Go back soon, if things proceed as those with $$$ want them too, Mineral Basin and Mary Ellen Gulch will be closed/severely shortened.
