I need to get down to Moab again. Hopefully my great friends can join me, and some new friends can tag along as well.

Here are my plans:
- some slot canyon hiking (perhaps ding and dang canyons, wind caves)
- an overnighter expo driving/camping type trip, like elephant hill, beef basin, HITR, white rim road, or something like that.
- a little disc golf
- some swimming
- and of course lots of wheeling

l'll be driving down on Thursday, the 6th and setting up camp. Last time we had 2 sites next to each other and it was great. I'd love to do a group camp setup.

I'll have my wife with me, so she'll drive a trail or two as well. We'd like to keep this family friendly, since some of the families will have kids there. So this won't be the party camp if you're into that. No desert rocks music festival here. :D

Trails I'd like to run: pickle, hell's revenge, fins n things, and many others.

We are one of the most flexible groups out there. That being said, here's my schedule:

Oct 6 PM: camp outside of Goblin Valley

Oct 7 AM: Hike Ding & Dang Canyons (killer slot canyons with lots of rock scrambling)
Oct 7 Noon: Head in to Moab
Oct 7 PM: Wheel a fun trail (Hell's revenge, fins n things, poison spider, pickle?) Camp in Moab

Oct 8 AM: wheel a few fun trails in Moab. Pickle? Metal Masher? Rusty Nail?
Oct 8 PM: camp up at base camp lodge in Moab

Oct 9 AM: play disc golf at Base Camp
Oct 9 Noon: hike to the wind caves and explore around there
Oct 9 PM: scenic trail overnighter. camp out on the trail somewhere (top of the world? elephant hill? Beef basin? lockhart?)

Oct 10 AM: finish trail from day before
Oct 10 Noon: wheel another trail
Oct 10 PM: drive back home

if you're a newbie, and you haven't been to moab, this is your chance. I'd be happy to show the new guys around. We had a few noobs last time, and it was a blast.

I will see if the wife can get a few days off, I don't have any classes this semester on Monday or Friday so I'm free as a bird. Where are you thinking of camping at? I love it down there in October, perfect weather and you can enjoy a nice fire for a few hours before bed.

I want to run that trail that Adam recommended. We were going to run it before gordon lost his wheel. Brandon, do you remember which trail that was?

wind caves are about an hour from downtown Moab. Ding and dang are over by goblin valley, so about 1-1.5 hours away.

We could also do the white rim trail, that might work for an overnighter too.

You also need a permit to camp on the trail, and I think they are about year out to get. I did this trail on my bicycle years ago. It is literally just a dirt road. It does have great views though. It would be a blast to dirt bike it in a day. I believe its about 100 miles.
