Why'd it let go? What was the method the top of the diff was located? Or did the whole just drop too far and pivot back towards the front instead of the rear?

the most amazing part is that he actually didn't break anything. He put it in reverse, backed out and tried the obstacle again (rocker knocker). He came back down and drove the vehicle all the way out. He had no limiting straps on the rear axle at all and it simply inverted the driver side. It looked for a moment like he had rear steer the way the axle walked up under the rig. I thought he would do it again, and though it got close, he was able to make the obstacle on the second attempt.
