I run a tight ship... wreck

(Looks like we'll have to do this again since there was a hiccup with RME and we lost the original thread.)

Moab Mash was Oct 2nd, 3rd and 4th this year and a few of us Utah boys got to meet up with the guys from Idaho and Planet4x4 for their annual Moab run.

Thursday I ran Coyote Canyon and Lock Jaw with Chad and Scott in the 4Runner and Cy, in a Toyota Truggy.

Friday MBryson and I ran Pritchett Canyon with most of the Idaho group, it was a very fun time!

Saturday ended up raining all day, but most of the Idaho group decided to run one of the most difficult trails in Moab, located in the Area BFE playground, Helldorado!

Here's pics from Coyote Canyon-

Friday's pics and video on Helldorado... wet, slippery and fun!

My camera didn't see to much use due to the constant rain. I got 2 videos and stole one pic.

I can't take credit for all the pics and video, my camera changed hands a few times and I also copied the photos that Scott, who was riding with MBryson, took with his own camera.

As usual Area BFE was great... I really appreciate the effort that goes into keeping that land open for our enjoyment. I made sure to open my wallet and leave a donation at the gate and hope everyone that visits does the same thing!

Wheelin with the folks from Planet4x4 was fun, they all are great people who I'd wheel with anytime. It was a very fun weekend, I hope everyone had as much fun as I did.

Here's the "normal" mbryson pics.... (stolen from Greg's site)

VERY fun climb. Greg made that one as well.

About to make Rocker Knocker even though my 37" is lost in the hole there. Just a little passenger turn, yep, there we go, give it a little throttle to make the climb.......BANG

We did have two rigs make Rockpile look pretty easy. That's always fun.

Did you over-angle that Ujoint to break the U-bolt? Looks pretty angl-y in the pic above.

It's possible as that is one of the most advanced driveshafts in the modern world. I really don't know, though and didn't see any funky damage other than the broken u-bolt. How would I tell?

Look for marks on either the pinion yoke or Dshaft yoke indicating contact with the other. There'll be a shiny spot or maybe mushrooming in the "valley" of one/both if there's been contact.

I said it on Planet and I will say it here.

This was the funnest wheeling trip I have had in a Long time. Huge thanks to Greg and Marc for showing us around. They were a blast to wheel with. It was good to have their experience spotting to get my junk through!

Now you guys get your butt up here and run our trails!

Thanks again!!!

Well alrighty then, we'll just do this again. On Thursday we went and wheeled on the Moab Rim trail. Beautiful seenery, awesome challanges, the best of friends, what more could anyone ask for? I had one issue with some U-joint straps comming loose but other than that, no one had any problems. Durring this trip I was fortunate enough to meet Greg and Mbryson. Two really cool fellas that I hope I will be able to wheel with in the future. Our little group was made with some of the best folks in the world. ChestonScout, Mrs. ChestonScout, Mitch, Sammy (the dog), Sprueitt, Mrs. Sprueitt (and two little girls), Turbosniper, Mrs. Turbosniper, Mike, his brother Stephen, and my wife. We had the best of times, with the best of folks. I don't think that there was a soul in the camp that did not have a smile on their faces the whole time. On Friday we gave Pritchett canyon a shot. I was the limiting factor there. I was not going to be able to get up a short climb just before Rocker Knocker. I gave it a shot a few times and I was just not going to make it up un-assisted. Pritchett Canyon 2, LT. 0. On Saturday it was rainy and cold. But, it may have been the best day of the whole trip. My wife stayed behind due to the rain. Now, I am not saying that was the reason the day was the best day, I am not saying I am just saying. Trackin'? I was able to drive my junk up Potato Salad Hill. That was the first time for me un- assisted. I could not have been happier. But, it was not done alone. Everybody, and I do mean EVERYBODY gave me the courage to keep on keeping on. I could not have done it without their help! I will get the pictures up as soon as I remember how.
