Despite the warning of lots of rain, i busted my ass on thursday getting the spool installed. I left around 4, hit I-15 traffic for about an hour  I forgot to put on windshield wipers, so i didnt have those at all on the way down. I got in around 830 and met my friends from CU - Boulder at sand flats. Camped, drank, rock climbed, all the fun stuff. We got up the next morning and hit up hells revenge. This was my first time wheeling with a manual, so i almost stalled and rolled down the entrance to hells revenge. Finished that, went to dump bump, and i finally conquered it on my tenth try or so. It poured rain all the afternoon and night. I went into town for food and beer, the moab cop that pulled up next to me gave me strange looks when i had no doors on and i was wearing a garbage bag (for the rain). he just made a smart ass comment like, "I bet you wish you had your doors at a time like this" (no sh*t). we just drank ourselves dry that night and luckily it stopped raining at about 10 or I would have had a wet night in the back of the Toy. Ran lower helldorado the next day. We were hoping for an easy quick run, but a K5 on 42s broke a hub on the first obstacle and that was only one of 10 people in front of us. We rallied through the whole trail in like 45 minutes and proceeded to go watch some rigs try upper hell that were not destined to make it. later hit up potato salad hill and went swimming at the power dams. All in all, it was a real fun trip and good to see my friends from CO. I wish those of you who didnt make it could have. It would have been fun to run pritchett with Herzog and Wayne, maybe next time guys when i dont have insane amounts of homework. Without further ado, heres the pics.

*EDIT* if any of the pics dont work, yahoo is screwy like that, they are under
http://photos.yahoo.com/jjj5283 under the fall break album

That was way fun man.

I'm so glad I finally got the jeep dialed in, I walked mickey's hot tub, dump bump, potato salad, and pretty much everything else I tried, whereas last time with the tweaked out suspension I was getting so much crazy hop. I'm continually impressed with toyota's the nearly stock 4 runner owned lower hell and zach in his fj-40 with the busted hub did pretty well too. That was a sweet trip can't wait to go back.

Simply put, your jeep is amazing. It crawled effortlessly through everything.

The toyotas ruled. I was super impressed with the 4 runner, part of that might have been because body damage is no longer a concern for me, whereas that held me back with the jeep.the list of things i need next are: 35s, front locker, hand throttle, and smurfields.

I love watching Zachs rig, it is such a sleeper. On lower hell, he still made it without that hub.

I cant wait for next time to get out there. Moab never fails to be my favorite place to go, rain or no rain

Yeah was a great trip, got my leaky bastard FJ home so that was a big plus. I had a heater hose grenade on the highway at Grand Junction, lucky I had a spare. One day I would like to drive my truck and not get greasy.

Nate's jeep preformed unbelievable with the new suspension, just point and shoot.

John's new yota was a great score, it stuck up the name that yota's are truly tough rigs from the factory. I would suggest getting the marin crawler 4.7 gear set to make it crawl, the first thing I did to my cruiser was a sm420 and it is the best mod ever aside from lockers.

glad you made it home safe. I was telling Nate how it seems like you have a second landcruiser stashed away in your blue one. Blow a birf, no problem, blow a radiator hose, no problem. I cant wait to see yours with some smurfs and 35s next trip :D
