I know this has probably been beaten to death. My family is going down to Moab the 2nd week in May. I will not have my runner even started by then. I was wondering what trails I would be able to do in my stock 4 runner minus running boards and I do have a rear locker. The only one I know would be fins n things. I am not looking to beat it up just looking for some nice mellow trails that the wife would enjoy and that I might be able to get her behind the wheel.

Hells revenge, fins, copper ridge, 3D, chicken corners, there are a bunch you would be able to do, you will just have to be careful.

The tower arch trail and klondike bluffs trails in arches are always a lot of fun for the family. Klondike bluffs has some pretty cool dino footprints right on the trail. Long canyon is also fun if you have kids because you get to drive under a rock. Another fun sight to see is the rock art at Black Dragon canyon just 10 miles west of Green River not to mention it's a fun trail.

To tell you the truth I think you would be surprised what it will handle in stock form. I take a stock standard cab Tacoma down sporting 31" tires (no E-locker) and some sliders and have done Fins-n-things, Hells Revenge, Goldbar rim, Steel bender, Strike Ravine, Wipe Out Hill to Seven Mile Rim to Tusher Tunnel (last weekend and I highly recommend it), Gemini bridges, Bull Canyon, Kane Creek, Poison Spider Mesa, and maybe some I can't remember. I didn't do all the obstacles on all these trails for example Dragons tail on Steel bender I avoided because I don't have the clearance.

If you want my opinion on what to take the wife on for an introduction I would say Fins-n-things and then do the seven mile canyon loop including Tusher tunnel and Wipe Out hill.
