I am headed down to Moab the end of October. I am wondering about lesser known trails. I have done the Pickle. I want to do Mashed Potato. Need to find directions also. Is there any thing else that I dont know about?

Have you done Where Eagles Dare? It's off of Golden Spike, has some steep slickrock sections and a great viewpoint looking down at Corona Arch.

I ran golden spike backwards about a year and a half ago. We got lost. Still dont know what trail we had done. It was marked. I remember when we hooked back into Golden Spike. We hung a right down into that little canyon with the water hole. It was maybe half mile to the water hole. Were was I?

Yeah, Golden Spike can be really hard to follow in places. The paint marks fade quickly, and are hard to see sometimes even when they are fresh. Then there are numerous illegal dead-ends and parallel routes that have been created from people getting lost, and also illegal painted bicycle routes. It has become so confusing that we will be helping BLM later this month to install new signs and close the illegal routes.

Where Eagles Dare is a legal, marked trail, but if you don't know exactly where it is, it can also be difficult to follow. It is west of the main trail, and starts near "Zuki Hill" (if your are heading south to north).

I guess I will never know exactly what i was on.

A year ago you took me and some other rigs through pritchett. My buddy had the black XJ that rolled on rocker knocker. Thanks again for all your help doing that trail. It is by far the hardest thing I had ever done.

We'll be taking BLM out on Spike on Oct 27 for trail marking. We'll also be signing Where Eagles Dare. You are welcome to come along if you are here then.
