Moab vacation

I was toying around with the idea of taking the wife down to Moab for a nice weekend. I was thinking about maybe something like a day of golf and maybe a jeep rental for a day of trails or something along those lines but at the same time I would like to keep the cost as LOW as possible. My question to the people who know more than me(most people) is what are some good inexpensive ideas in the lodging, dining, and recreation areas?

Well.. you can camp all over the place pretty cheaply... and campfires are also not that expensive... Lodging during the summer months isn't going to be cheap, but Zax pizza is good if you like pizza...

Recreation areas?? the whole place is a recreation area! something for every discipline.

For cheap ok lodging, check out the cabins at Slick Rock campground. They are bare necessities (with a window A/C unit), but better than a tent and they have a community shower, real plumbing, pool, etc. They are also right in town (far north side).

Moab Rim on the south side has cabins with AC also and prices from $49-$109 (depending on if you want a private bath or want to use the shower/bathroom building)
