Motor mount bolt removal problem

Swapping to some Heavy Duty motor mounts.
Passenger side: no issues: easy.
Driver side: the motor mount bolt threads in from the front and hits the AC compressor (right where the lines bolt to the compressor body).

Is there an easy way to remove the bolt without unbolting the AC compressor and swinging it out of the way?

Or do I need to unbolt the mount from the block?

I'm about ready to cut the bolt in half and thread a new one in from the backside. :shaking:

Take the bolts from the mount to the frame out, then lift the motor a little until the long bolt comes out over the top of the AC connection..

The AC compressor is attached to the motor... lifting the motor won't help change it's relation to the motor mount.

I thought about lifting the motor with the mount still attached to the frame to get the bolt to tilt, but I don't know if the bolt will go far enough to get even one side through the motor side bracket.

I can't remember exactly how I did it, but it was something along the lines of what you are thinking. Loosening and moving. And I did put it back in from the other side, too. Thinking about it, maybe it was the AC that I loosened?

Removing 4 bolts to free the AC compressor for 30 seconds doesn't sound too difficult either... Easier than starting a thread on RME I'd bet!:p

At 11pm starting a thread is pretty easy....
AC hardlines don't have much give...

I will agree that an 11pm thread commencement isn't difficult, but I really enjoy harassing you.:D

Oh, and there's rubber hose on the other end of those hard lines... I promise.:p

If I remember correctly, I had to loosen the ac compressor when I did mine, and the lines had enough movement that I didn't have to undo them. I did both a 97 and a 99 so the 01s may have a different configuration.
