Update

From my Dad's facebook post.

"Cindy continues to make progress. It's slow but if you compare where she was at a week ago to today, she has come a long way. she is able to conduct short conversations and her left hand and arm are now at least somewhat useful. she can walk (with a walker) sort distantness and continues to amaze me at her ability to bounce back from these things. This is # 4. We still appreciated the prayers and good thoughts."

Like he said this is the 4th time for this. I have never really been sure what's been going on. The closest thing I have had to compare these episodes to is a mild stroke but they aren't strokes and the last time the doctors really didn't know what was going on. I've been prepared for the worst for the past couple years because of her deteriorating health but my god she is one strong lady and will not quit.

I'll be making a trip to Oregon next month right when I get back unless of course her health is good enough for them to come visit us. I'm sure she could use her little three year old grand daughter to lighten her spirits.

And again thank you all for your kind words, thoughts and prayers.

Another Update

My parents met with the doctors yesterday and this is what they got out of it.

"Meeting today to project Cindy's care for the future. She is making great progress but the staff feels she will need 2 - 5 more weeks of rehab before she will be able to come home. I hope and pray it is on the shorter end of that prediction. She is still having speech problems and is very weak. especial on the left side. Keep praying and she well keep getting better. Thanks all."

It looks like she will likely be unable to make the trip to Utah when I get home, unless of course she recovers on the short side of their projections. If she is unable to come visit I'm going to have to hit the ground running when I get home and make the 15 hour drive back to Oregon. My wife isn't thrilled that I'll likely be leaving right away but she does understand. My wife probably won't be able to come with me depending on her schedule for finals that week, she is going to start talking to her professors and instructors to see if there is anything she can work out.

Read this for the first time today. My sister has been in hospice care for 5 years now waiting to die. I know what you are going through and have great respect for you being in the place you are and worrying about someone else. Come home safe, you and your mom will be in my prayers.

Update

From my dad's FB page.

"Wow, Cindy is finally home. Thanks everyone for your thoughts and prayers. She still has a ways to go but the worst is behind us."

It's just good to know she is at home finally. I know the chances of her being ready to make the 15 hour drive to Utah is highly unlikely, so I'll just hope for the best and I know they will come visit as soon as she is able.

I've also got a nephew that is due this month so it's a fight between seeing their grandson who they haven't seen yet and seeing their favorite Son and granddaughter, haha.
