I'll try to thow up some pics of my mud flaps this weekend. I think total they cost about $15 for the metal and $5 for the big semi mud flap I cut in half.

Here is a pic of my CJ, it does have rear TJ flares so the tires only stick out inch or two. Its still full body, got a cat and sensors for the 4.0L swap, even has emergency brakes so inspection really isn't that bad unless I get a natazi.

With flaps, and everything else, I think you've got a good chance of passing UNLESS someone gets real sticky about the flares covering the tires. By law the SHOULD cover, but I don't think it's a biggie if they are not quite covered. There are thousands of vehicles out there that aren't totally covered.

I agree! I took my new(er) Ram to my normal mechanic (the one with the management change) and after 1 look he said he could not pass it since the tires stuck out an inch past the body. Like a total idiot I too kit to Jiffy lube...big mistake. they even hit me on mud flaps for the rear and it is still at the factory height! Since then I have kept my eyes out for other trucks and SUVs with tires lsticking out and they are every where!

For quick disconnect mud flaps, I bolted a male end for a air hose fitting to my jeep, and the female end to some bars that have mud flaps botled to them. I think I even posted pics up under another thread a while ago. It literally takes me 2 seconds to put them on or take them off. And they dont rattle much.
