Been along time since I've done formulas. I got the surface area of a hexagon with 9 foot sides as 162' sq feet. I have that same hexagon with a depth of 4" requiring 1.98 cubic yards of concrete. Would that be correct?

A of hex = (((3)(sqrt3))/2)*(length of side)^2

=(((3)(1.7325))/2)*(9^2)

=210.5sqft

210sqft * 1/3ft = 70cuft

27cuft = 1 cu yard ->70cuft = 2.59cuyard

I come up with 210 sq ft for the surface area of a perfect 9' sided hexagon. 210' * .33' (4") = 69.3 cubic feet or 69.3 / 27 (cubic feet in a cubic yard) or 2.59 cubic yards of concrete.

and someone beat me to the punch
