no We are trying to find him so strangKowboy can adopt them. This is my ex husband and he has droped of thr side of the planet. stangeKowboys jeep is down but my jeep is the one we use to get the kids back and forth to school and doc apts. Mine is the main used one. And the money that we are trying to get from him is for the sole use to help the one out on his med bills. Sorry for the confusion. But even if we just find him so that strangeKowboy can adopt them is better then nothing. I will pay the bills and not look back. I just want my kids to live a happy life and right now...well I just dont know what to tell them. If any of you know how to tell a 8 year old there dad has just forgot about them can you give me some pointers?

Contact the local postal inspection office. I guarantee they know where he is at :D Believe me, local PD/sherriff contact them when they can't locate someone. What I don't guarantee, though, is that they will tell you without a court order. So maybe talk to a judge, explain the deal and maybe he'll give you one.

Also, something I was just thinking about.... You shouldn't have to find the guy for the adoption to go through. I was adopted as an adult and if I remember correctly (didn't pertain to me as my father was long deceased), but I think I remember the paperwork stating that all you needed to do was send a certified letter to his last known residence to invite him to the court proceeding to contest it. Get a lawyer.. He'll know.

I hope things work out ok for you guys. I don't understand dead beat dads.

Wow I just got home and was reading all the threads and the PM. it just so happens that the wonderful people on here were able to locate him, Its amazing, two months searching and contacting the courts and police and nothing comes up and nobody knew where he was, One day just one day on this forum and he is found, i want to thank everybody that has searched via online, court documents vehicle reports and yea ya'll just went way out for us and we appreciate it so much. He is going to have a rude awakening when he recieves the court papers after everything he has done to hide. I love my stepsons with all my heart and just want them to be normal as can be. As soon as the jeep is fixed up and running again you will see us back on the trail, all of us! Thank you again God bless

Sweet! I was talking to my wife about what could be done this evening and she suggested the same as I; sherriff or local PD. If they have no answers, they could contact the postal service with paperwork showing they have a legal reason to contact him and then she could go through all kinds of records, change of address forms, work history, utility bills, etc. and pin point his exact whereabouts. The only problem is most LEO's don't know the benifit of the USPIS nor do they understand their actual LEO as well - and federal at that. Point being sometimes you gotta tell them to contact the USPIS because they don't know themselves.

Man, now I can't go looking for him (I'm big and can be scary when I want to be). While on the right track now, I hope this story comes to the conclusion you want.
