Need Help with Ford 302 vs 351 block

I have a quick question, it's not really wheeling related, but it is a Ford block. Will a fuel pump from a 302 fit any 351 block or just 351W?

Here are the details:
I am working on an old ('72) boat for my parents. It originally had a 302 block with 351 heads. I put a fuel pump on it back in '02. Since then they had a short block 351 put in it, the mechanic who put it in reused the heads, intake, exhaust, etc... I am about 90% sure it was a 351W, but it could have been a 351M. Now the fuel pump is weak again(I think). The fuel pump looks to be the same as the one I put on back in '02 (it had a very unique NPT to hose fitting that I rember). I have a lifetime warranty on the pump, so I just want to swap it, but I can't seem to find a yes or no answer on 351M (just in case that is what the block is) compatibility with a 302.

The 351W uses the same part number for a fuel pump as the 302.

Of course the auto parts guys are skeptical to help since it's marine, and the marine parts stores aren't able/willing since it's not OEM.

any ideas would be helpful.

Thanks!

A 351 W and M don't share the same fuel pump, they are in different block "families" It's been a while but I beleive on the W the bolt holes are Horozontal and on the M the bolt holes are Vertical - ford guys chime in here -

I'm not an expert on F*rd engines (for good reason), but the 302 and 351W do have similar parts and some interchange (something like a fuel pump 'probably' would). I don't think many parts at all interchange with the 351 M (I thought it was closer to a 351 C than a 351 W).

If it was a 302 with 351 heads, then the heads had to be W's. Therefore if they used the original heads this engine must be a W. Various 351 heads do not interchange....

Right you are!!! I dug through the mountain of receipts for the boat and found on one of them that it was a W. Also, the fuel pump from the 302 did match the 351 block.

Thanks for all the help!!!
