Plus a SOA will give you about 5-6"s of lift and would probably be on the high side for 33"s.

Look around, I have seen a fwe budget lits with shocks and springs in the $300-$400 range.

So how much lift will I need to get 33's under it and still have some room to play with so it wont rub if I am on the lite trails (Remember its stock right now)

i have a 3 inch teraflex, but it really sits at about a 4, and the only place i rub (full flex) is on the stock fender flares

You really need to let us know what you feel is a cheap budget. $1100 for a ~4" kit is kind of spendy for a mild to moderate wheeler.

Be aware that putting a 4 inch lift on a YJ can also require stuff other than just the springs. Such as drop pitman arm, shimming the rear axle for proper driveshaft alignment, and possibly a SYE, or dropping the transfer case. Except for the SYE the other stuff is not so expensive. The transfer case drop is a substitute for the SYE. Sometimes these extra things come with the lift kit. Sometimes they don't.

So with a price range of about 400-500 what would be the best way to go for the most bang for buck?????

Rubicon Express has a nice 4" standard kit.

Quite a few of our local vendors offer great prices on RE parts. Check out the directory: http://www.rockymountainextreme.com/misc.php?do=page&template=directory

Also check the Vendors section at the top of the forum.

Teraflex also offers some good kits that you can take a look at.

There are tons of options out there and with most of them you can't really go wrong with what you are asking.

RE is a good brand with alot of positive comments about their systems. Also take a look at BDS (http://www.bds-suspension.com/). The prices look a bit high but you should be able to find them for less than a the same height RE lift. They will not be as smooth but still very good.

Another option would be a smaller lift (3-3.5") with a small body lift (1").
