Want to head out of SLC on Sunday with the dogs to do a little hiking. We wanted to hit up Vernal but, it's just too far for one day.

Any suggestions on trails that are within 100 mile radius of SLC that are fairly senic.

I hear Provo falls is nice?

TIA -Marcus

wasatch front is loaded with excellent hikes ... just a bit early however.

Try this one, go up to the Zoo, drive past the zoo about a block or so, on the left side of the road is some parking and a trail head. If you make it all the way up to the radio tower, you've had a nice hike. Later in the year, give me a holler and I'll give you some way excellent ones.

Sounds like you want him to run off into the woods and not come back:rofl:

North and South Willow canyons are quite scenic and there are some good trails. The upper ones will still have snow. They are in the Stansbury mountains south west of Granstville. Another closer hike is up Georges Hollow up to the stone chairs. The trail head is just north of Huntsman chemical and south of Red Butte gardens. It ends up in the same general area as the zoo trail mentioned earlier.

Atleast when you see your front cv rolling out from underneath in the rear view mirror you just have to pull the fun stick and keep on going.

Oh yeah, try waterfall canyon up this way in ogden. Perfect time of year.

Other than that, the San Rafael Swell has the best hiking iv'e ever been on. Need a guide? Check the library for books by Micheal R Kelsey. ;)

Thanks for the imput.

Ended up driving down 80 thinking I could get to provo falls but, the road was closed. So instead went through Midway to Heber City and then to the Provo canyon to see the falls. Nice trip!
