hey guys so a guy on expeditionportal.com wants to trade a harley and a cherokee for my sidekick as long as I can drive the zuki up to casper wyoming. just wondering what you guys think of this trade? If I do it im just not sure how to bring the bike back since I dont have a hitch on the sidekick to take a trailer up.

heres the info on the bike and cherokee:
I have a 2000 harley sportster, titled as an 883c but has the 1200 kit in it less then 1,000 miles ago... 26k miles, custom graphics on tank and fender (1k paint job), new tires with less then 200 miles on it, 21 inch spoked front tire and rim, wille pete saddle bags and tool bag, drag pipes, k&n muffler, lots of chrome, runs like a dream with no problems... when tires were changed Harley in casper went over the entire bike and it's good to go!! Also have a brand new bike cover for it as well, and an anti theft ignition key system.

1996 jeep cherokee sport, 4.0 ho, auto, ps, pb, pw, pl, cloth interior in fair shape ( no rips but could use a wash) two sets of tires and rims (stock set and oversized set), extra axle with a lockrite locker (not currently installed), 173K miles, runs just fine

That harley alone is worth more than the sidekick. I say do it. I would rather have an xj over a sidekick anyway also.

I've never heard of a k&n muffler for a Harley and typically drag pipes include the entire pipe (don't have mufflers). They may mean the air filter though. Sounds like a good deal to me but I'd make sure it is before driving all that way.

Drive up there, buy a small trailer from the local harbor freight, tow the bike home behind the jeep...
or if it's cheaper, install hitch on sidekick, tow trailer up, drive jeep and trailer home

That sounds like a great deal. Like others I would really check things out. Since he said he had it checked it out at the harley dealership, I think I would give them a call and see if they remember seeing it. They may not depending on the time frame. If they don't I would tell the guy that you would like the harley place do a oil change on it before you come up on your dime. I don't know what a oil change runs on a harley, I would suspect less than 50 bucks. Then call the dealership and see what they thought of the bike.

If you still think its a great deal. I would probably rent a truck and car trailer from uhaul and go get the bike and cherokee. this would keep you legal all the way back to your place.

This might sound crazy, but you would not believe how many Wyoming motorcycle deals have fallen through for me because I asked for a title :ugh:

thats alittle freaky. well talked it over with the wife this morning and it looks like there is no way we can scrounge up the extra cash for gas to go all the way to casper so im going to see if hes serious enough and wants to meet me in slc or evanston.
