I'll be intersted to hear over time what you think of them. I have heard lots of mixed reviews on them for snow and ice on heavier rigs, esp after 10k or so miles on the tire.
Scroll up to see my post on 09-05...Here, I'll post it again:
"I've loved my BFG AT KO's. 2 sets, 295's and 315's, both D rated. Thinking of going 285's to get the E, I'd like a little less squish when towing.
The traction has been outstanding in all different conditions except towing in deep gooey snotty mud (to be expected). "
My vehicle is about as heavy as they come, weighing in around 9000lbs.
As stated, my exerience, and the vast majority of the reviews I've searched, consistently reports great snow and ice traction. Whereas the Toyo MT has some saying its the greatest and other saying its the worst. it's almost like the IROK
I'd really like to someone that has used both. Come to think of it, I did, back when I bought the first set, which is why I bought the AT's.
The Grabber AP's I had on 4 fleet vehicles back in the mid-90's had great traction and horrible durability...gravel would literally push through the tread. I ended up running Cooper Discoverers with good luck.
I ran a set of Coopers "workhorse" type on my 2500 burb and while the traction was pretty good, the wear sucked and I heard "you get what you pay for" a lot. EZ has had good wear with his SST's though (I think that's what they are).
I'm gonna take a 2nd look at the disco's and LTX/AT. Has anyone run either of those AND BFG AT KO's and can make an objective side by side comparison?
Just looked online at the LTX/AT and my gut reaction is that I'll be stuck at the bottom of the hill (compared to the KO). Yes? No?
