Need Trail Ideas

So there is a chance that the U4 Summer Con will be held in the Wasatch Front area in 2010.

What I need are some trail ideas.

I know of:
Rattlesnake
Constrictor
Mineral Basin
Forest Lake
Mary Ellens Gulch
Little Moab

I need some more trail ideas.
Trails need to be within a reasonable driving distance.
And of course, they need to be legal trails.

Let me know what you got.

Thanks,
Bear

And of course, they need to be trails that aren't blazin' hot.

That's my say. I love AF and would love to have an excuse to spend all day and hopefully camp.

There are some trails in the Uintas that are fun, Murdock Basin and Norway Flats are two that are reasonably close. The best part is that you can go fishing at the end of the trails.

Very pretty areas. U4 has done conventions there in the past in fact one of the last big events that EZRhino planned was the Summer Convention Poker Run up that direction. Permits, staging and a group meeting spot could be an issue depending on size but there is no reason it couldn't be done.

That was a great event. I really liked getting into an area that I hadn't been to before.

I've spent a BUNCH of time between Logan canyon and Blacksmith Fork when I was much younger, but haven't been up there in years. It'd be cool to have something like the Murdock Basin event through there if someone knew the area and land use issues. (wish I did--I keep having good intentions every spring.....)

That is an area I would like to get to as well. I'm not sure I like the idea of Poker Runs? Though I've always been on the organizing end of them so maybe its funner to actually play :p U4 did a Summer Convention in 04' or 05'? We ran Prov & Millville, and then had a BBQ at the park. It was a service project, we loaded up a Forest Service Truck with trash. Pretty sure Larry Olsen planned that one? Russ provided the giant BBQ?

I'm in 100% for Murdock Basin. I planned to go there this year and ran out of weekends. My only concern other that the red tape with Forest Service is that of difficulty. From what I hear the buggy people need not even bother 'cause the trails are not that technical.?

This is true. There are really no areas in the Uintas that would be fun for a buggy and all will need to be street-legal or OHV tagged and the ability to drive on short sections of the highway ie street-legal would make planning fun run easier.

The idea of a Rubicon style trip would be amazing but the Uintas for as much as I can tell won't have any real obstacles. That is why I vote for AF but understand that even Mineral Basin which has the most challenging terrain will not be exiting enough as Constrictor for those with more capable rigs. How early summer could we run out to the snakes? Before the dust and heat gets nasty?
