Needed xj mud flaps options

So I am starting to think that the law enforcement in southern utah has nothing better to do. I have had the lift on my jeep for 2 months and I have already been pulled over twice by the UHP (same officer). He was nice about it but why hassel some body over mud flaps. I would think that speeders would be more of a danger to the general public than some slow cherokee without mud flaps:confused:.

Now that I am done ranting does anybody have any good ideas where to purchase some quick disconnect mub flaps that will cover my tires so I do not get pulled over again. Thanks in advance Kevin

You're lucky. After driving the same truck for 7 years, which isn't tall by any stretch of the imagination, I got nabbed last month. Strange, I don't get harassed in a Jeep with 6" of lift though. Anyways, no warning for me. Ticket, and a $50 fine. (Did I mention WVC blows?) The flaps are cheap insurance, get em on!

I have a feeling you'll be seeing a lot more of this. Citys are hurting for funds, and this is a quick and easy way to boost their budgets.

We'll see how it goes in court Monday........

The law's the law. Suck it up. :D

Hey tacoma i know it is the law it just sucks to get pulled over twice in a month and half for the same thing from the same cop. I am and have planned on getting them on just have not found the right ones yet. I mean no disrespect to any body in law enfocement becuase you do a great job. I just think there are bigger fish to fry than a silly mud flap issue. I do realize that it is just an excuse to try to get me for something else but fortunatly I keep the law (except for mud flaps) and they could pin nothing else on me. Thanks again Kevin:D:rofl:

You using mudflaps helps me not buy windshields. Thanks. :)

The funny part about that is that all my cracked windshields have come from little cars tossing up rocks, never a bigger truck or SUV, sans mudflaps.

Speaking of which, I got tired of the mudflap law and did this. Teraflex mudflaps! Ugly as sin, but functional.

I got a set of the Tera Flex Mud Flaps a few months back and I have not regreted it at all. I think I paid $88 cause I picked them up. The cool part about the Tera Flex mud flaps it they are removeable and well as replaceble. You can replace both mudflaps for $6 at your local autoparts store.

I have some removable ones on mine because I got pulled over twice as well. I can stop by and you can check them out. Or if you are in the area you can stop by. Mudflaps cost me 8 bucks at napa then used scrap metal and a pin, pretty easy.

Thanks for everybody options and opinions. I have ordered a set from rocky-road outfitters and they should arrive by the end of the week. Will post some pictures when they are installed. I would have tried to make my own but with full time school and work and family I just do not have enough time. Thanks again Kevin

I use to work in clearfield and drive from tooele, every once and a while i would work on a sunday and i would drive my 72' sub on 40's. never had a problem for a year, then one day i got pulled over in davis county. not just once but 4 times in the same trip going there in the mourning. got 2 tickets, finally the last uhp that pulled me over told me they have ten officers on that strip of road just for things like that. what a bunch of crap. like brett said in another post, i drive a car hauler and all three of the cracks im my windshield are from small cars and not trucks. the judge in centerville dropped one of the tickets and the other was $20. not to bad but just pisses you off.
