Bumper looks good. Your junk still looks like, well, junk.
i will admit to laying in the freezing slush once or twice on the side of the highway with freezing tools(thanks again Kurt)...
Surface mounted tabs?
are you talkin about the D-ring mount tabs?
they worked well...
They'll get over that.
So what would you suggest besides the way I mounted those tabs? I've never had any problems with any of the bumpers that I've built or my family has on our rigs (all surface mounted) and they've had PLENTY of stress on them. I ARC weld all the tabs on as well...
...Aren't Warn bumpers the same way? I'm pretty sure they are surface mounted as well?
When you start pulling hard on angles they will bend the front surface of the bumper. Tabs that are going to be really used should at least go through the front surface and be welded to the back surface. Even better if they go through both and are involved in the frame brackets.
