Tyler does a very good job. He is going to be getting so much business ha ha. That could be a good thing or a bad thing. Pretty soon Im having him build me a rear bumper for my grand.

Bumper looks good. Your junk still looks like, well, junk. :D

i will admit to laying in the freezing slush once or twice on the side of the highway with freezing tools(thanks again Kurt)... once or twice more than i'd have liked to... but, could your zuk average 80mph+ back to slc, to make it home in 4.5 hours including a lengthy lunch at Arby's in Filmore? ya.. didn't think so... siiiidown!

oh, and thanks.. i enjoy the bumper.. i hit a mountain with it.. then the mountian hit back on a weaker point of my rig(body panel right below the fuel door) ;)

So what would you suggest besides the way I mounted those tabs? I've never had any problems with any of the bumpers that I've built or my family has on our rigs (all surface mounted) and they've had PLENTY of stress on them. I ARC weld all the tabs on as well...

When you start pulling hard on angles they will bend the front surface of the bumper. Tabs that are going to be really used should at least go through the front surface and be welded to the back surface. Even better if they go through both and are involved in the frame brackets.

Gotcha...I see your point. I haven't seen that happen with any of the bumpers thus far. Aren't Warn bumpers the same way? I'm pretty sure they are surface mounted as well?

Hate to agree with Meat, but that is how I have always built them too.
