You forget what happens when it rains bad in a desert?
Snorkels are one of those things, adds a piece of mind. I've put the snorkel in my FJ40 to use, I could have avoided the deep water, but I could also avoid other challenges out on the trail
I'm not going to argue a snorkel is for everyone, then again neither is a winch or welder...

Regardless of usefullness, they look cool for sure. There have been times when I wish I had deep water forging capabilities.

Well you know I'm just kidding, besides I don't ever wheel anymore so I don't even think I need an air filter.

The ARB catalog also say's they are useful for keeping the air intake up out of the dust which would be good in the desert.
