New Opportunity Dilemma

Hell, 7am...I'm lucky to be out of bed by then...usually more like 8 :D I stroll in to work around 9-9:30 and then call it a day around 5 (M-F) I love my job and the hours are whatever I want them to be. If I don't feel like going to work, I also have the option of working from home or not working at all that day. However, this great schedule comes at a cost, this time of year, time-off is pretty much unheard of. Really in Nov-Dec we don't let guys take time off unless it's for a good reason (death (hopefully not their own), medical, etc). I make great money doing what I do, it would take mega bucks to give up my weekends with my family.

I've been offered jobs from some major tech companies, but to get me to make a change would have to be one sweet deal (only because I have it so good where I'm at). Hopefully you're able to pickup the M-F job making more money. Sounds like it will get you on your way to being where you'd like to be.

I don't do mornings. I hate alarms so bad that I created a job that I didn't have to be to until 10 a.m.

I used to be a late riser...10-11 a.m. ish. These days, I wake up between 8 and 830 no matter what, but because I can wake up naturally and not to an alarm, I feel so much better every day. I don't know if my internal clock will ever let me wake up earlier than that...and even if it did, as soon as I had to set an alarm to be sure I made it some where, it would become tortuous.

The whole thing is moot, they have no idea what's going on over there. The guy they wanted to hire back up for resigned and their guy who they think wants the job doesn't. So one guy is hiring for a job the other guy is hiring for another and neither one is on the same page... and the sales dept hates the entire idea so they're fine in the chaos. So I am going to let them sort all of that out and keep on looking.... I'm not really qualified for crazy.

I hate working Saturdays! That is enough for me, if I were in a position to choose, to not want to have to work Saturdays. I miss so much family and other activities because of it!

I totally agree, i hate alarms! Being startled out of your sleep is a terrible way to start ones day. Dammit there has got to be a better way! :)

My alarm clock actually has a wake to radio function that you can set it for really low and then the volume increases slowly... I prefer this instead of an alarm!

Joseph, I have a renter that is out of work. He worked as a service manager for about 20 years and I wanted to know if you knew some place he could check?
