I have been on the forum for a while, lurking if you will, while trying to decide what vehicle I want to wheel with. I finally bought the bullet last week and bought a 2010 Jeep JKUR. I am totally new to JK's. I did some research before buying the gutless pig with a 3.8, but I am still a newb with this ride. It is nothing like the CJ's I grew up with.
I have now owned 7 Jeeps in the last 13 years. It all started with an 82 CJ5 (sold), then a 99 XJ (wrecked), 84 CJ7 (sold), 05 LJR (Sold), 83 CJ7 (sold), 79 CJ7 (sold), and now the 2010 JKUR.
I don't quilfy for the "Built not Bought" club with this one, but experince has shown I lose more money building and then selling than buying already built. So far, everything done to this JKU seems to be top quality. I am still looking it over trying to identify eveything that has been done do it.
From what I can tell right now, it has a Fabtech 5" lift with what appear to be coilovers in the front and air adjustable shocks in the rear, Fab Four bumpers front and rear painted to match, Smittybuilt XRC8 winch with synthetic line, 37" Toyo Open Country MT's (not 100% sure of rim brand or size), 5.38 gears, aftermarket exhaust (not sure of brand), AFE CAI, manual sway bar disconnects, transmission cooler (just installed Friday), a superchips tuner to correct the spedo (bought and installed today), and other stuff I am still looking to identify.
Any JKU owners that want to help me understand some of the quirks of this rig, hit me up. I look forward to hitting some trails soon and getting my glorified mall crawler dirty.
The only pics I have right now are from the night I bought it. I will get more as soon as I get it out on the trail.
